RFMO HS Web Page

WCPFC and CCSBT are the only two RFMOs with dedicated web pages for their harvest strategies efforts. Hopefully, more RFMOs will follow suit and create similar central clearinghouses for all harvest strategy-related documents, including development details, workplans and management measures. Workplans detailing timelines and goals associated with progressing harvest strategies are linked for other RFMOs without harvest strategies landing pages.

Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
  • Harvest Strategy; WCPFC’s extensive harvest strategy web page includes download links for workplaces and key documents that outline draft policies and MSE specifications. This page also summarizes current progress of each of the RFMO’s stock-specific harvest strategies.
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
  • Management Procedure Landing Page; CCSBT outlines the history of their precedent-setting management procedure for Southern bluefin tuna, along with key specifications.
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
