El enfoque de la estrategia de captura ha sido muy estudiado por científicos de todo el mundo, que tratan de comprender la mejor manera de aplicar este tipo de ordenación a diversas especies, cada una con su propio conjunto de características biológicas y condiciones ambientales. El proceso por el que se configura esta política en las distintas organizaciones varía; estos estudios se fijan en esos procesos para ayudar a esbozar y recomendar las mejores prácticas para las estrategias de captura y la evaluación de las estrategias de ordenación (MSE).
